Account details (name, email, phone), profile information you provide (bio, skills, organisation), team and submission content, meeting/scheduling data, and basic usage/log data needed to run the service.
To operate the hackathon (registration, teams, submissions, judging), to match teams with mentors, investors and relevant opportunities, to communicate about your participation, and to keep the platform secure. Processing is under the Kenya Data Protection Act (KDPA), 2019.
With your opt-in consent, we send periodic emails about matched opportunities, programmes and events. These are optional; you can withdraw consent anytime from Settings or via the unsubscribe link in any such email. We never sell your data.
Assigned mentors, advisors and investors can see the team and profile information relevant to supporting you; judges see submissions for scoring; administrators manage the event. Sponsors and partners see only aggregate or expressly shared information.
We use strictly-necessary cookies for login/session and a preference cookie to remember your cookie choice. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
We keep your data for as long as needed to run the event and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymise it.
You may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your data, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact info@iess.co.ke.
