Anga delivers hyperlocal weather alerts, early warnings, and AI farming advice to smallholder farmers through USSD, SMS, web, and mobile.

Problem

Smallholder farmers in Africa face growing climate risk but lack timely, localized, and actionable weather information. Most available forecasting services are built for governments, researchers, or smartphone users, not for everyday farmers making planting, spraying, grazing, and harvest decisions. This gap is worse in rural areas where internet access is low and feature phones are still the most common device. As a result, farmers often rely on guesswork, delayed information, or generic forecasts that do not reflect local conditions. This leads to crop losses, livestock stress, missed planting windows, lower productivity, and weaker climate resilience. Livestock farmers are especially underserved, despite their importance to rural livelihoods and food systems. Institutions like cooperatives, NGOs, county governments, and agribusinesses also lack simple tools to deliver climate intelligence to farmers at scale.

Solution

Anga is an AI-powered climate intelligence platform built for smallholder farmers. It provides hyperlocal forecasts, early warnings, and practical crop and livestock advice through channels farmers already use, especially USSD and SMS, with web and mobile access for institutions and connected users. Farmers can receive alerts on drought, flood, heat, frost, pests, and disease risk, then act early to protect crops, livestock, and income. Anga also includes an AI assistant that helps farmers ask simple questions in plain language and get personalized guidance on weather, planting, spraying, feeding, and animal health. For institutional partners such as SACCOs, cooperatives, NGOs, county governments, and agribusinesses, Anga offers a scalable way to reach and support farmers, plus advisory and consultancy services for program design, training, monitoring and evaluation, and climate risk reporting. By combining advanced weather intelligence with feature-phone access, Anga makes climate-smart farming support practical, affordable, and reachable at scale.
