Full-stack climate resilience platform with a risk intelligence engine and automated green financing marketplace.

Problem

Climate change poses an existential threat to Kenya's economy and communities. Smallholder farmers, businesses, and households face increasing risks from floods, droughts, and unpredictable weather patterns, yet access to climate-resilient financing remains fragmented and inaccessible. Traditional financial institutions lack the climate risk data needed to underwrite green projects, while communities lack the tools to understand their own vulnerability or identify suitable financing products. The gap: There is no single platform that connects climate risk intelligence with accessible green financing. Applicants struggle to understand their climate exposure, don't know which financing products are available, and have no way to measure the environmental impact of their projects. Meanwhile, financial institutions lack the localized risk data to confidently approve climate adaptation projects. This disconnect slows climate action, limits investment, and leaves vulnerable communities unprotected. Why now: With Kenya experiencing more frequent extreme weather events and a growing push for sustainable development, the need for an integrated climate finance solution has never been more urgent. We need to move from understanding risk to taking action – faster and at scale.

Solution

EcoGuard Finance bridges the gap between climate intelligence and green financing. The platform provides: 1. Smart Financing Marketplace Six curated green financing products covering solar energy, electric mobility, climate-smart agriculture, water security, climate-resilient housing, and waste-to-energy. Each product is tailored to Kenya's unique context and development priorities. 2. Kenya Climate Intelligence Engine County-level risk scoring for floods, droughts, storms, and wildfires. Users input their location and receive personalized risk profiles, probability scores, and recommended financing products based on their specific climate exposure. 3. End-to-End Application Workflow A five-step process: Personal Information → Project Details → Location Risk Assessment → Climate Impact Evaluation → Review & Submit. The seven-stage status pipeline (Submitted → Under Review → Credit Assessment → Climate Assessment → Approved → Funded → Rejected) provides complete transparency. 4. Impact Dashboard Users track their cumulative environmental impact – CO₂ reduction, water saved, jobs created – visualized through Recharts. This gamifies climate action and demonstrates real-world results. 5. Admin Portal Role-restricted dashboard for authorized reviewers to manage applications, monitor portfolio performance, and view analytics – completely separated from the public interface. Built for Kenya, with Kenya: Everything from climate risk modeling to financing products is specifically designed for Kenya's counties, communities, and economic realities. The platform is accessible, intuitive, and doesn't require advanced technical knowledge – just a need for climate resilience.
