SMART-GAS-MONITOR

Share

Predictive LPG intelligence that forecasts depletion, detects leaks, and connects households to refills — before the gas runs out.

Problem

Over 5 million Kenyan households depend on LPG as a primary energy source, yet manage it entirely reactively. Families discover empty cylinders mid-meal, gas leaks go undetected at the household level, and suppliers operate without demand visibility. There is no existing solution that monitors consumption, forecasts depletion, or detects hazards proactively — leaving households vulnerable to daily disruptions and preventable safety incidents.

Solution

Smart Gas Monitor is a data-driven platform that combines real-time IoT telemetry, predictive analytics, and supplier integration to transform LPG management from reactive to proactive. Using load cell and MEMS sensor data from standard 13kg cylinders, the system continuously monitors consumption, applies a multi-stage signal pre-processing pipeline, and runs a time-series forecasting engine to generate rolling time-to-empty estimates per household. A separate statistical anomaly detection layer identifies atmospheric leak signatures before they become hazardous. Users receive predictive alerts ahead of depletion and can initiate refill requests directly through the platform, enabling suppliers to fulfill demand efficiently. The platform is live and accessible at ai-smart-gas.onrender.com.
